About Rat Race Wheels

Since ‘94 I have been involved in the “bike industry” as both a mechanic and a shop owner. Over the years I have witnessed it evolve into what it is today; a vast network of passionate individuals each with their own love and perspective of the bicycle. In this rat race of an industry, I have learned to adapt, evolve, and refine with a sense for what I believe is best. All wheels are built, dished, and tensioned to the industry’s highest standards. I established Rat Race Wheels as a retailer and a craftsman to showcase top-quality bicycle wheels and to help fulfill the passions of fellow cyclists.

Process

Think of Rat Race Wheels more like a “wheel store” rather than a “custom builder”. With today’s supply chain issues, endless colors and configurations, and the time spent chasing parts, I build wheels using what is currently available to make matching sets. Basically, if you see it on this site it is built and ready to ship. To further simplify the process, all wheels are shipped free of charge to the lower 48. I hope you enjoy riding your Rat Race Wheels as much as I enjoyed building them!
